ABOUT ME

I’m Sophie, a qualified Personal Trainer with a genuine love for strength training and helping women feel more confident in the gym and within themselves.

THE BEGINNING OF IT ALL
When I first started I wasn't confident, have a clear understanding of what I was doing, or even the right intentions. I was at home doing hours of HIIT workouts, and getting over 10k steps a day was a must.

My goal?

To be the smallest version of myself. I thought endless cardio was the answer, I had severe body dysmorphia, alongside an unhealthy relationship with food pushing intermittent fasting beyond my body’s limits. It got to the point where I was worryingly underweight and had lost my period.
With areas of my life feeling out of control, this was the one thing I thought I could control. Looking back, I can see that it wasn’t control in a healthy or positive way.

JOINING THE GYM
I'd wanted to join a gym for a LONG time (and I mean LONG) but had always been too scared, I had no clue how to use any equipment, what order to do a workout in, or even which exercises worked which muscle.
My first time in a gym, I scurried straight to a treadmill for about an hour, used one machine for one set and left because I felt like I'd used it wrong and was too embarrassed to continue.
I was still set on going to a gym, so I didn't give up. Let me tell you the dread I would feel walking into that gym for the first 2 months was real!
I actually had a few sessions with a PT to show me the ropes of some gym equipment and build up the minutest bit of confidence as I felt so unsure of myself.

TIME
Over time, I started gaining more control over my mindset, how I felt and my confidence in general. I learned how to train with more structure, fuel my body properly and focus on sustainable progress rather than constantly chasing intense cardio sessions. My goal was to grow my glutes, and what do we need to do to achieve that? Eat right, lift well and progressive overload, but to progressive overload you have to eat right! Training became something that helped me feel stronger, more capable and I cannot even begin to explain the confidence it gave me.

MY APPROACH AS A COACH
My personal experience is a large part of why I became a Personal Trainer. I want women to have the clear guidance and support, whether you are completely new to the gym, returning after time away or simply tired of feeling lost with your training or like you have elements of life you cannot control and need an escape having something to make you feel good from the inside out.

My approach is straightforward, supportive and realistic. I believe your training should be built around your goals, experience and lifestyle. You don’t need to train every day, remove everything you enjoy or already feel confident before asking for help or making progress.

As your coach, my role is to give you structure, explain the reasons behind what you’re doing and support you as you become stronger, more consistent and increasingly confident in yourself and your own abilities.
